Good health is as much about emotional balance as physical, but sadly, the emotional is often overlooked. The ancient Ayurvedic texts clearly show how much the forefathers of Ayurveda understood the reasons behind health imbalances. They identified that perfect balance between mind, body and spirit is the key to overall health. The focus of my consultations and treatments is the mind. Without clarity of mind and positivity of thought, without healthy relationships and a feeling of connectedness with our family, friends and neighbours, we cannot thrive and make suitable nutrition and lifestyle choices. In the short-term, this is not necessarily a problem, but over a longer period, the imbalance takes its toll and makes us more susceptible to stress and chronic disease.
I concentrate on the key principles of Ayurvedic health diagnosis to ascertain your constitution type, and analyse your nutrition and lifestyle history. This allows me to gain a full picture of the state of your overall health in order to rebalance your mind, body and spiritual wellbeing. I do not believe in health and nutrition fads such as the latest celebrity-endorsed diets, exercise crazes, or this season’s ‘superfoods’. Good health is not a trend and cannot be attained collectively, as all our requirements differ. It is our responsibility to ourselves to learn how to incorporate appropriate nutrition and lifestyle into our everyday lives, for the rest of our lives. My approach is honest and realistic. Ayurveda is the oldest medicine system in existence, and it is as complex as it is logical , so I will not blind you with science. By explaining to you its main concepts, you will begin to understand how it will help you to regain equilibrium. It is vital that we both appreciate the importance of the two -way relationship between therapist and client. You have to be willing to facilitate the change you seek.
